Over the last couple of years, our Centre has cared for 9 wild leopards in need of a temporary home. Last, but not least, was this Mister. He was captured within North West Province by our very own Nature Conservation.
After 2 weeks, of being spoiled with lekker zebra meat, a safe haven was found for this rosetted big boy. Thanks to Dr Peter Caldwell, a thoroughly health check, DNA sampling and identification was performed.
Deon Cilliers, from Cheetah Outreach Trust, assisted us with the fitting of a satellite collar, sponsored by Ashia Cheetah Conservation. This collar will provide the reserve with data on the movement, safety and what this leopard is up to in the next coming months.
Another successful leopard release which was made possible by the collaboration of passionate conservationists. Thank you so much!
