A whopping 18 Cheetahs, born at our Centre, have started their journey at Ashia Cheetah
Conservation since 2020. Following overview will give you an idea of where they are in the release
project (from oldest to youngest):
Sappho and Ezra, released in January this year onto Bangweulu Wetlands in Zambia as part of their
Recovering Key Species for Ecosystem Restoration Project.
Judy and Elena, travelled to Waterval Private Game Reserve in June 2021, it didn’t take long before they started successfully catching prey.
Ariki and Melvin, honing their hunting skills in the pre-release boma of Madikwe Conservancy in Limpopo since November 2021.
The 4 brothers (Douglas, Dwight, Daniel and David) were less than a month ago released onto Waterval Private Game Reserve.
Molly and Dakota are still at Ashia’s main hub in Paarl, training to open carcasses and getting fit.
The youngest ones (Eros, Zeus, Poseidon, Athena, Perseus and Juno) were transported from the Centre to Ashia in February 2022. They are growing into beautiful Cheetahs and are just loving their new environment.
